Chef Series: A Collaboration With Spirit
Mixing it up in the kitchen with some of our favourite chefs, from industry
heavyweights to the fresh up-and-comer’s.
Our mission was simple: offer some of Australia’s best chefs a bottle of Mr Black and the chance to concoct a caffeinated cocktail
that reflects their personal style. The results are in, and they are worth a toast: an array of drinks that not only showcases the
many sides of Mr Black, but also bring coffee culture one step further into the night.
Many will recognise our first chef, Ava Stangherlin, from her days as a contestant on MasterChef Australia, but others might know her from
Cornersmith in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville, where she’s currently head chef and specialises in pickling, preserving and fermenting.
Her ‘Mr Black Kombucha Spider’ puts a funky, grown-up twist on a time-honoured childhood classic. It’s a breeze to make
and a pleasure to drink. Just the way we like it.
